Santan Treatment
Usually Malay women use santan (coconut milk), which has a cooling and a soothing effect to shampoo their hair. Santan softens and moisturizers the hair, thus preventing dryness and split ends. Santan from overripe coconuts gives the best result.
Add some tamarind to the santan and leave to stand for 10-20 minutes before applying on your hair. Towel wrap it for at least half an hour. The combination will enrich the hair colour, making it very black as well as smoothen rough ends.
You can also boil the santan to obtained coconut oil. If jasmine or rose scent is added, the solution becomes a fragrant hair oil that keeps the hair smelling goods besides helping to promote hair growth.
For Chinese they believe that medicinal herbs that improve blood circulation thus a healthy body will produces healthy hair. Herbs like tong kui and pai can (available from Chinese medicine shops), when boiled and taken regularly, increase the strength, the elasticity of the hair, and help prevent greyness.
Some women also wash their hair regularly with the concoction.
